VISA OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

According to the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan foreign citizens and stateless persons can enter Uzbekistan or travel through its territory for transit on the basis of entrance visas only. 

Foreign citizens and stateless persons can get visas at the diplomatic representations and consular missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad on the basis of the visa support (confirmation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan).

Visa support is issued on the basis of application of the inviting organization, company and persons who are permanently or temporarily residing in Uzbekistan and submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In order to apply for the visa, foreign citizens and stateless persons are to submit the following documents to the diplomatic representation or consular mission of Uzbekistan abroad:

- passport or document of stateless person, expiry date of which must exceed the visa’s period of validity not less than 3 months;

- 2 copies of duly completed visa application form; http://evisa.mfa.uz/evisa_en/

- - 2 passport-size colored photos.

Member States delegation arriving from the countries where there is no diplomatic representation or consular mission of the Republic of Uzbekistan can get visas upon arrival at the Visa Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Tashkent International Airport by following the procedures give below:

• Fill out an online application for a visa on the website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan (e-visa.gov.uz)

• Send to globalforum@nhrc.uz completed and signed application with a copy of passport.

Note:
1. Based on bilateral international agreements and parity, a bilateral visa-free regime has been established with the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the Kyrgyz Republic (up to 60 days) and the Republic of Tajikistan (up to 30 days ).

2. The visa-free regime applies to citizens of the above countries, holders of all categories of passports (diplomatic, official and civil), planning to visit the Republic of Uzbekistan, regardless of the purpose of their trip. To enter the country, a person must have a valid national passport or other substitute document used when traveling to foreign countries, the validity of which must be at least 6 months before entering the republic.

The visa-free regime does not apply to stateless persons permanently residing in the territories of these countries.

The 30-day and 60-day visa-free regime begins to operate from the moment of crossing the state border of the Republic of Uzbekistan and as it expires, a foreign citizen must leave the republic.

If it is necessary to stay in the Republic of Uzbekistan for more than 30 or 60 days, a foreign citizen must submit the necessary documents for obtaining one of the categories of entry visas of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

3. Visa-free entry to the Republic of Uzbekistan of foreign citizens under the age of 16, accompanied by legal representatives and having a biometric travel document, is established for the duration of the visa of the accompanying person, but not more than ninety days from the date of entry into the country.

4. For citizens of Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and China a 10-day visa-free regime is established if they have an air ticket to their own or a third country.

5. For citizens of China (as part of tourist groups), the United States and Vietnam who have reached the age of 55, a visa-free regime has been established for entering the Republic of Uzbekistan for tourism purposes for a period not exceeding 30 days.

6. With Hungary, China, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan (up to 30 days), Vietnam, India and the Republic of Korea (up to 60 days), Brazil, Egypt, Kuwait, Latvia, UAE, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Turkey, Estonia, and Japan (up to 90 days) established a visa-free regime for holders of diplomatic passports. Citizens of these countries (except India), who hold diplomatic passports and are accredited as employees of diplomatic missions or consular offices of their countries located on the territory of Uzbekistan, as well as members of their families, have the right to enter and stay without visas for the entire period of work.

7. A system for issuing electronic entry visas (e-visa.gov.uz) for foreign citizens has been introduced and a list of countries whose citizens have the opportunity to obtain electronic entry visas to the Republic of Uzbekistan has been approved (Appendix 1);

8. A short-term visa-free entry to the Republic of Uzbekistan for a period of not more than five days has been established for citizens of a number of states (Appendix 2) transiting through the international airports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, if they have an Uzbekistan Airways air ticket to a third country. This procedure applies to transit air passengers who wish to see the sights of Uzbekistan.

9. Uzbekistan and Japan issue visas on a reciprocal basis without charging consular fees.
